Privacy Policy

Effective: May 14, 2026

YourMother is a Chrome extension that plays a voice clip when you switch to a tab outside your approved-sites list. This policy explains what the extension does and doesn't do with your data.

Short version

Nothing leaves your computer. We don't collect, store, or transmit any of your data. We have no servers, no accounts, no analytics. Your mom does, though.

What gets stored on your device

The extension stores two things in your browser's built-in local storage (chrome.storage.local):

This data is stored only in your browser, on your computer. It is not transmitted anywhere, not shared with us, and not shared with any third party. Uninstalling the extension deletes it.

What the extension reads

To detect when you switch to a non-approved tab, the extension reads:

The active tab's domain is used only for a local comparison against your approved-sites list. It is never logged, stored, or transmitted off your computer.

What we don't do

Audio clips

All voice clips ship bundled inside the extension as static .mp3 files. No audio is streamed from any server, and no network request is made when a clip plays.
